Dannii Minogue Is Down-To-Earth On Plastic Surgery

Sometimes celebrities are no different than the rest of us. They make the same bad decisions and fall victim to the same bad reasoning. Earlier this month, Kathy Griffin, basically admitted to Fitness magazine that she had thought plastic surgery would make her happy. Luckily for her, she realized that cosmetic surgery cannot fulfill you if you are not fulfilled within yourself, before it was too late.

Enter Danni Minogue. The 36-year-old entertainer has her head screwed on more straight than any other celebrity I've ever known when she talked to Cosmopolitan this month about her cosmetic alterations - she's had breast implants, a nose job and Botox treatments.

"I've had botox because I want to be the best I can be and look the nicest I can. There's no right and wrong - it's a personal choice.

"It didn't make me happier, though. If you link cosmetic surgery into happiness or to be perfect you're never going to be happy. It's not about being perfect - that's where people get it wrong," says Dannii.

Way to go, Dannii! Instead of criticizing individuals and not the society that produces them, you've chosen to be realistic and rational. 'I Begin to Wonder' why more news sources aren't talking to Dannii about offering advice to women who want to go under the knife. I guess, "if it bleeds, it leads", still rules in journalism.

I totally agree with Ms. Minogue: cosmetic surgery is about presenting the image you want to the public, but you must first be satisfied within yourself. Plastic surgery cannot make you happy. A surgeon works with a scalpel, not a magic wand.
